We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Lab to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. As the Director of Lab, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory, managing laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and implementing quality control procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage laboratory operations including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain the accuracy and precision of laboratory test results.
• Manage laboratory staff including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee and review laboratory reports and results to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate laboratory results to physicians, patients, and other healthcare providers as necessary.
• Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Implement new laboratory procedures and technologies to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a related field such as Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or Biology.
• ASCP Certification
• A minimum of five years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least two years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory operations, staff, and resources effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
